RLEEF would like to congratulate these teachers on the projects they have presented.
Much discussion was had and the decision making process was difficult.
Many worthwhile projects were submitted.

RLEEF encourages all teachers and staff to think ahead to next grant season!
Start planning now!!

In the fall of 2011, a decision was made to move the grant-awarding process towards more encompassing district-wide programs.  Thus more focused attention and funding will be made for grant programs and classroom materials that have a greater impact on a larger number of students and those programs or materials that can be used for extended years of service.

All future grants from this point forward will be determined based on criteria such as total number of students impacted, how the funds will provide for innovative delivery of instruction, and how the funds truly support the District's Mission Statement on a more global basis.

These factors will be considered during the Fall 2013 grant season.

WE ENCOURAGE TEACHERS, BUILDINGS, DEPARTMENTS, PTO GROUPS, BOOSTER GROUPS & OTHER SCHOOL RELATED ORGANIZATIONS TO SUBMIT THEIR COMPLETED GRANT PROPOSALS BY NOVEMBER 4, 2013 TO THEIR RESPECTIVE BUILDING PRINCIPAL.  The building principal will need to submit to RLEEF by November 8, 2013.  Grants will be awarded with notification by November 18, 2013.

THE PROCESS:
The Grant Process has been streamlined over the summer of 2013.  The grant form is accessible above.  Please include as much supporting documentation as possible - along with the most accurate cost information as possible.  If matching or shared funding is available, please note that in your application (in case R.L.E.E.F. is only a portion of your funding proposal).  PLEASE USE AS MUCH SPACE AS NECESSARY.

Grant applications are due to your building principal by Monday - November 4, 2013.  Principals must sign off and submit the applications to R.L.E.E.F. directly to our either of our emails at supportrleef@rleef.org or rleef@riversideschools.net

Please be sure to inquire with your building principal to make sure that your grant proposal has been submitted.  It is the responsibility of every grant applicant to insure that proposals have been submitted.  R.L.E.E.F. will send confirmation emails to the building principals and grant applicants indicating receipt.  Please make sure to include accurate and current email addresses on the application for this reason.

Notification of grants awarded funding will be made to each application via email by November 18, 2013 - as either approved or not approved.  While we understand fully that ALL projects are worthwhile, our funds are limited and criteria will be followed strictly to determine the awarded grants.  Be as complete and thorough as possible in your application for funds.

FUNDING:
In a change from recent years, R.L.E.E.F. will be making payment directly for all funded proposals.  Project costs will be paid directly by R.L.E.E.F.  Funds will not be advanced to award recipients.

If ordering materials from outside sources is required, RLEEF will make payment to the respective companies directly via credit card or check.  All invoices will be billed to RLEEF.  All purchased items will become the property of Riverside Local Schools upon receipt.  No teacher will have ownership of the items purchased.  R.L.E.E.F. will cut checks for projects directly up to the amount of the grant awarded.  If costs come in under the projected amount, only those costs necessary will be funded and the excess will be kept by R.L.E.E.F. and made available for future grants.

Thus, please be as accurate as possible with your cost projections.  R.L.E.E.F. will not make additional funds available if cost projections are inaccurate.

ALL PROJECTS MUST BE PAID BY R.L.E.E.F. PRIOR TO DECEMBER 31, 2013.  It is the intention of R.L.E.E.F. that the expenditures will be complete prior to calendar year-end.

R.L.E.E.F. HAS SET ASIDE $5,000 FOR FALL 2013 GRANTS

In the summer of 2013, the trustees of RLEEF revised their by-laws and organizational policies and procedures.  A formula for determining the annual grant funds available was agreed upon by all trustees.  In order to continue to grow the funds available for grants, the trustees agreed to set aside a limited percentage of calendar year-end available funds for the following year expenditures.  A budget will be calculated based on that amount, and grants will be allocated in the fall of each year based on the budget information and expected expenses.

THE MORE SUCCESSFUL R.L.E.E.F. IS IN GENERATING REVENUE, THE LARGER THE GRANT FUNDS THAT WILL BE AVAILABLE EACH FALL.
